LAMUN XX

Esteemed Delegates and Advisors,

Dear Delegates and Faculty Advisors, 

It is with immense excitement that I welcome you to LAMUN XX! We are looking forward to seeing you all for UCLA’s 20th iteration of the Los Angeles Model United Nations conference, held at the Biltmore Los Angeles from Thursday, April 10th to Sunday, April 13th.

LAMUN has consistently prided itself on an ability to create space for delegates from all walks of life, with varying interests and expert areas. This LAMUN, we strive to achieve that goal to a maximum, presenting committees where delegates will be encouraged to work amongst each other to foster creativity, innovation, and solutions that solve inexplicably difficult world problems. Thanks to the incredible work of our staff, we’re able to bring to you amazing  committees that do just that. Our ten crisis committees and five general assemblies and specialized bodies all bring forth unique concerns for delegates to grapple with. They present fifteen different arenas where we hope you all will be able to practice statesmanship and showcase your own personal interests and excitements. With a diverse array of settings, time periods, and locations, our committees allow our delegates space to learn something new and research niche and important issues. 

I hope that throughout the weekend you’re able to engage your interests and meet others who are looking to do the same. LAMUN would not be what it is without delegates who jump at the opportunity to engage and negotiate with others, whether it’s to create long, detailed resolutions or concise, effective directives. LAMUN XX is a chance for you all to continue that endeavor, while also making new friends and meeting a plethora of new colleagues and compatriots. I hope that whether this is your fourth LAMUN or your first, you’re able to take away something new from this experience and leave having gained a valuable insight into diplomacy.
